We're the Wilsons. We started Wilson Way because we got tired of watching homeowners get burned.
We're carpenters by trade. We run a tight-knit crew. If you hire us, you'll talk to one of us directly — our cell phones, not a call center.
There's more than one way to build something. We believe there's a better way.
Wilson Way grew from a lifetime of building, solving problems, and figuring out how to make an idea work.
Construction has always been more than a job to us. It's something we've grown up around, learned hands-on, and continually challenged ourselves to do better. From custom homes and renovations to projects that require a little more creativity, we've always enjoyed taking an idea and figuring out how to turn it into something real.
That mindset is what became Wilson Way.
We're a 15-person team serving Louisville and Southern Indiana, and we've deliberately stayed at a size where our founders remain directly involved in the work. There's no sales team between you and the people responsible for your project. The people who meet with you, walk through your home, develop the plan, and build the project are the people who care about getting it right.
That matters.
Building or remodeling a home involves hundreds of decisions, unexpected challenges, and countless details that most people never see. We believe our job is not simply to follow a set of plans. It's to anticipate what's coming, solve problems before they become bigger ones, communicate when decisions need to be made, and look for smarter ways to accomplish the goal without compromising the finished product.
We're also not afraid to say, "There's a better way to do this."
Sometimes that means using a different material or method. Sometimes it means rethinking a detail in the plans. Sometimes it means finding a creative solution to a problem that doesn't have an obvious answer. And sometimes it means telling a client that something they envisioned needs to be approached differently to achieve the result they really want.
We've deliberately built a company where craftsmanship still matters, where experience is valued, and where the people doing the work have a genuine stake in the outcome.
We don't try to be the biggest contractor.
We want to be the contractor you're glad you hired.
That means paying attention to the details. Taking ownership of the problems. Respecting your home and your investment. Keeping the project moving. And caring about the finished product long after the job is complete.
See what could be. Find a better way. Make the idea work.
That's the Wilson Way.
Four things Wilson Way won't compromise on.
These aren't slogans. They're how we hire, how we bid, and how we run every job site.
We're the contractor you want to hire.
We take on projects we believe we can do exceptionally well — and then we give them our full attention. With hands-on involvement from start to finish, you can expect honest communication, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a finished project built to last.
The crew matters more than the contract.
Our crew has been with us for years. We hire slow, train hard, and pay well. The person framing your addition is on our payroll, not a stranger's subcontractor list.
Small enough to care, big enough to finish.
We say no to work we can't do well. We won't take three projects at once and juggle subs across all of them. When we're working with you, we're working with you.
The dust settles. The work has to last.
A remodel is invasive. We treat your house like our own — end-of-day cleanup, protected floors, kept driveways. Three years later, every finish should still look new.
Zachery Wilson
At the heart of Wilson Way is Zachery Wilson, a lifelong builder, creator, and problem solver from New Palestine, Indiana.
Zachery, 28, graduated from Portland Christian School in 2017. His passion for building began at a young age, working alongside his grandfather and father and learning firsthand the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way.
Over the years, Zachery has gained experience across many areas of construction and building. He has worked on custom home construction, residential remodeling, and renovation projects, developing an understanding of how to take vision and turn it into a finished space. His experience extends beyond traditional construction to creatively building theatre productions and assisting with construction projects during mission trips.
One of Zachery's greatest strengths is his ability to see potential where others may see wasted or overlooked space. He has a natural talent for looking at an area and imagining how it could be transformed into something functional, practical, and useful. Whether building a home, remodeling an existing space, or creating something entirely new, Zachery approaches each project with creativity and attention to detail.
That same problem-solving mindset led Zachery to become an inventor. He created and patented a forced-air leakage testing assembly, designed with a plurality of intake covers that can be fitted over the air intake of various types of air handlers used in forced-air heating and cooling systems.
For Zachery, building has never been simply about putting things together. It's about seeing what could be, finding a better way, and making an idea work.
That philosophy is at the heart of Wilson Way.
